Rockford ProAm Names 2018 Tournament Beneficiaries
Two area organizations and their programs are named the Rockford ProAm’s 2018 tournament beneficiaries.
Carpenter’s Place “Homeless Women Achieving Wellness” Program
ProAm proceeds will be used for professional counseling and assessment activities associated with Carpenter’s Place Women’s Housing Program. Carpenter’s Place was established in 2000, and provides a central, day-time center for people who are homeless while providing them with the tools needed to rebuild their lives.
Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois “Runway to Real Life” Program
ProAm proceeds will be used for materials and staff time in its Runway to Real Life Program, an after-school curriculum targeted to girls in 6th, 7th and 8th grades. The weekly program series is designed to introduce and teach life skills, including leadership in decision-making, collaborative learning, and hands-on activities and experiences.
Now in its 42nd year, the Rockford ProAm remains the longest running, free-standing proam in the nation.
